No, we agree, you are still missing my point:

I'm not at all saying an Apple is like a PC on a technical level.

My distinction wasn't a technical one.  I was deliberately keeping Apple
with PC because they are sold like PCs and are sold in the PC market.

I was talking specifically about getting UNIX workstations into the
traditional Apple/PC market.

Is that better?

That was a dealer discount, at least it was according to them.  I've
never bought a Sun new before, I always get them used.  Usually I get
them after no one else wants them, like my pair of SS5's.

Anyway, you didn't answer the question, but I'll assume the answer was
no, that was not a good price.  So what *is* a good price on a Blade
2500?

I don't want to win the lottery.  I want to make a ton of money selling
a cubicle farm of Sun desktops... :)

I'd love to *sell* 1000 of them to some local business.

I drove by a business last week and there were Wintel PCs stacked up
at their receiving dock, and I mean story-high walls of them.  It was
amazing to see a canyon built out of cardboard boxes.

I kept hoping as I closed in for a look that I'd see an Apple logo, but
they were all Dell.  Hundreds and hundreds of them.

I bet it took a long time to recycle all those boxes.
