Wow, people actually buy whole PCs, rather than just scrape them together
out of the electronic sludge at the bottom of the box of components swiped
from people's cast-offs?

Actually, when I bought my laptop, I asked for it to come without Windows. I
even have the invoice showing a reasonable discount for it, and it arrived
with a nice blank Linux-ready disk.
