Well, the shipping would already make the cost prohibitive, but asking
for an international wire transfer is the final straw.

I equate wiring money abroad with an invitation to be defrauded. Or do
they consider the UK to be part of Eastern Europe or the former Soviet
Union, and therefore couldn't possibly be using their own credit
cards?
