1.1 should help significantly from what I understand. Where did you find it?

That is to be expected, though hopefully not as onerous an experience as 
compiling a new version of gcc for Nextstep 3.3 HPPA... bletch...

All of this means, though, that I need to migrate my wife to OS X from 
OS 9 :)  Anyone got a really cheap copy of 10.2 they don't need anymore 
(it's a beige G3)?
