(Actually, the furnace and what passes for HVAC sit in the corner of the
 diningroom.  We're just about certain the ducts are open to the
 outside, because the dryer vent just dumps directly into the crawl
 space, and warm air vented from the dryer comes up through the
 heating/air-conditioning register in the bathroom floor.)
