C++ has often been described as a language where they made a lot
of effort to make OO portable, but at the same time failed to make
programmers portable.

C++ programmers tend to have methods so different, that quite often two
very experienced C++ programmers cannot easily read the other person's
code.

It seems to encourage little enclaves of methodology.

In some ways, it is a bit too expressive.  That's true of a lot of
languages.  People view a more restrictive language as being less
flexible, but I don't think that is really true.

Sometimes choice is a bad thing.

You can, of course, go too far either way.
