Oh, no, he acknowledges that a lot of the other "stuff" that has 
been aquired into the house is "old crap" too. :-)  As for my 
calling it "old stuff"--I was referring to the old, as in old for 
computers, stuff.

He certainly agrees with our viewpoint that it's stupid to scrap 
perfectly useable enterprise hardware (e.g. the NetApp/Sun thread 
from $JOB-1).  But, he'd also argue that we have "no real use" 
for an E3000 or the like in the house.  We don't host our own 
domain or related at home, we have other people host our mail, 
and do no heavy duty graphics or compiling.  He hasn't worked IT 
in just over 3 years now, and he sees my frustration level.  So 
the blush is off the high tech rose for him.

He actually said mentioned on the phone the other day that he was 
hoping we got our finances straightened out soon--he was tired of 
all this Windows virus crap and was thinking of switching to a 
Mac.  :-D  I don't see how that'll work @ 100%, though, since 
they still aren't releasing many of the games he likes for the 
Mac.  But hey, he suggested it, not me, which is a step forward.
