[rescue] Tough USB keyboards & mice

Hi gang,

I rescued [*] a SunRay 1 that I'd really like to put in the kitchen for 
obvious reasons, and I'm looking for suggestions for a suitably tough 
keyboard and pointing device that
a) could take some punishment (water splashes, grease, etc)
   -and-
b) looks nicer and is smaller than the Sun type 6 + crossbow mouse

Does anyone know if something like this 
http://www.pctekonline.com/folfolwatkey.html with a USB interface would 
work with the Ray?

Any suggestions on a pointing device (prefer trackball, joystick or 
touchpad over a mouse)?
