   Yeah.  The 8080/8085 was in the days when Intel knew about as much as 
everyone else about processor design.

   The 8080/8085/Z80 was a damn nice architecture for the mid-1970s.  
And x86 was a reasonable, if not great, architecture for the late 1970s.
