I've had this happen to me once in Austin and it took me entirely
off-gaurd.  I was sitting in a restaurant next to a table with two women
in their mid-20s and a little girl (probably about 2).  The girl pointed
at me and asked "why does she have hair all over her face?"

I should point out that I'm a kinda big guy, with hair down to the
middle of my back and (at that time) a beard down to my chest--not at
all weird for this list (or for Austin, really).

One of the ladies said "because he's a disgusting nasty MAN.  We don't
like men, do we?".  "No, momma, we don't."

How does one respond to that?  All I could muster was the off-quoted
"hate is not a family value".
