Wow... I didn't think they got much beyond the 1G barrier....

Between SCSI and then IDE, I didn't think there was much of need
of developing ESDI that far (8G !).

No, got a few of those... the MD21 could control 2 ESDI drives...
the MD25 (much harder to find) could control 4 drives.
