[rescue] RS/6000 250 problems

I've got a bit further now, for some reason the hard drive in the
machine is not spinning up. It will spin up if put in an external case,
Is is possible to change the boot drive with a serial console.  
Does anyone know if there are any user manuals available for this. 
The IBM website seems to crash my browser with java enabled and the
menu's disappear with it switched off.
