In the late 70s, I had access to a system at Hatfield Polytechnic
composed of a PDP-10 and a PDP-11/70 linked by a custom interface called
HETTI. There was a Star Trek game on the system, which the operators
hated and would kill whenever they found it running because it consumed
128K of core. I played it over the "fast" (300 baud) link from
Stevenage College of Further Education, and according to *OUR* ops, I
was the only known person ever to win it and save the galaxy from the
Klingons without getting killed by the Hatfield ops. :)
