The simplest way is to convert what ever sound file you want to
.au, (8Khz sampling IIRC) and stick the following in /etc/rc3.d/S99xstartup:
cat /blah/blah/filename.au.au > /dev/audio
Of course, this does presume the system has a speaker, and it works.
(which it apparently does in this case)
