I don't have problem with administration of 7.x or 9.x, but
I don't use the eye-candy GUI tools.

I've never had this problem, no matter how many times I've updated
the files.

This is another problem I've never had, once I got past the
inherent inability of most x86 system to configure the BIOS
without a video card.  I use a serial console on some of
my systems, and I always configure everything with the CLI
tools.  My main configuration tool for RedHat (and Solaris,
Tru64, etc.) is vi.
