I also remember Avi fondly.... I sold him some hardware in the mid 90s, he 
was running Netaxs in x/280 chassis.

Last I heard, he was comms tech guru behind Havenco 
(http://www.havenco.com/).  He was mentioned by name and pictured in the 
Wired article on them a while ago:
