[rescue] VGA signal amplifiers

Hello everyone,

I'm going to be building a linux-based video wall of approximately 12-16
displays (quite possibly two-- one of CRTs, and one of LCDs). My current
setup dictates that the base machines are located in a centralized
location, and the actual video walls would be roughly 25 feet away (maybe
more with corners running cable).

This leads me to question whether or not signal degradation will occur. I
don't remember the exact specifications for VGA off-hand.

 So here are some questions:

Would it be worthwhile to look into getting some sort of VGA signal
amplifier?

If so, what brand/models should I be looking for? And what would an
expected price range per such a unit be? (I'd probably be interested in
12-16).

Are there any special considerations I need to take into account if I am
using LCDs? I may be acquiring 12-16 of these as Dell E171FP LCDs
(school contract).. the machines I will be plugging them into just have
i810-driven onboard VGA plugs, so I wouldn't be doing DVI.

I noticed these things called "VGA distribution amplifiers"... would
these do the same thing?

Any suggestions or pointers would be greatly appreciated.
