Well, YMMV, but Verizon has been great for the last 2 1/2 years for me
- never needed their support except when there was a problem in the
local wiring pedestal (water related, biblical-proportion rain would
cut my service), and once when I spazzed out and locked out my user-id
(too many bad password attempts) - and in all cases the problem was
resolved within an hour or two of my call.

Oh, and they increased my connection speed *and* lowered my monthly fee
- bastards! ;^)

Again, YMMV...
