[rescue] semi-dead laptop question

Sorry about getting on the topic of PeeCees (i normally work with sun and
sgi machines).
A friend of mine has a Toshiba Satellite Pro 6000 which is having major
problems.
Sometimes the machine won't power up, even after repeated tries, and will
only start up if you wait for a while. Also, the screen sometimes turns
green (garbled) and the system freezes. The BIOS was upgraded, the ram
tested, the machine froze even in Linux.  So it's a hardware problem (i
can't exactly figure out what's causing the problem though).

There's a bunch of other people with the same model laptop who are having
the same problem.  Any ideas?  We're going to bring it to a Toshiba repair
place soon.
