I recommend the Mac Manager's list as a good source of info
<www.mac-mgrs.org>.  Mind you, most of these folks are not
UNIX geeks, but a lot of them have been working with Macs for
a long time, and they know the ins and outs of bugs, etc.

   summary section indicating which Apple knowledge base articles have
   been updated/added.

   here is quite extensive as well)
<http://www.macfixit.com/>  (was a lot more useful, now you have to
   subscribe for pay to get the really good stuff)
<http://www.everythingmac.com/> (meta--a lot of refs to other places)

O'Reilly has quite a lot of OS X info on their web site, though
some of it is OS X *server* specific (must make a clear distinction
on that).

There is quite a lot of weirdness with OS X and the "normal" way
of doing things.  I have stuck with fink for UNIX-side software
installation, though I am using the stock install for samba.  I
haven't done anything with NIS or NFS, as I'm only using OS X on
my home network at the moment.

Aside from fink, two other pieces of software I think are most
useful for OS X are:

Carbon Copy Cloner <http://www.bombich.com/software/ccc.html>
psync <http://www.dan.co.jp/cases/macosx/psync.html>
   and the related PsyncX (gui frontend)
   <http://sourceforge.net/projects/psyncx/>

There's a lot of other tools out there for OS X, feel free to
