Has any one been able to update the LIC code on an array?

I have the approprate files of the newest LIC code and PROM for the array
but it appears you need the managment software on the host machine, using a
terminal on the serial ports does not(as far as i can tell) allow you to
upload the file to perform the update. Even in the special Service mode you
can send the terminal into, wich includes advanced setup and testing options
not normaly avalable, there is no evident way to perform the update.
