Substitute 2.2ghz xeons, and only a gig of ram, and add a set of 3
immersion PCI IO cards, and you basically have the box I spend over 30
hours a week on last semester.

The machine made all audio sound chipmunkish, and crashed (thought not
as much as most 2k machines I've used did) all too often.  Also, for
some reason VC++ felt really sluggish.  And it kept dropping frames when
trying to capture DV.

On the upside, it held up pretty well to rather unoptimized OpenGL code
far far better than P4 1.4ghz machines with Geforce2 Ultras did.
