Some of us have been using Solaris just fine for years, without using the
SMC management console or anything else.

(altho I did use Admintool years ago for adding printers...)

If you know what you're doing, there's no need for fancy graphical 
tools.  I dont even have X *or* the X libraries installed on a couple of
my Sun boxes.
