Cute. Insignificant, but cute. However, feel free to send me such a system
and I'll give it a shot. Now that I think about it, I actually can't think
of anyone else I know who uses Freehand anymore.

I claimed I used "desktop tasks" ... I think I have OpenOffice, a couple
of browsers, and some other desktop apps on the 266. On the 500 I ran
Office X and various other desktop apps. They both did what I needed them
to, and I know several people also using older "unusable" systems quite
usably with more apps and more intense use, thereby at least confining
your inaccurate (or at least imprecise) sweeping generalization.

Perhaps you thought that by "desktop tasks" I meant accessories (chess and
term windows), and if so, I regret the confusion.

I may have missed the part where you guys said that the OS was unusable
with less than G4/800 only for specific tasks. If there was a post I
missed where the statement was "you can't select a small jpg in freehand
with less than a G4/800 with 512mb of ram" then by all means I apologize
for my oversight. I have not tried that, and I have not used Freehand
since I ran it under Windows 3.1 on a 386/20 circa 1990.

I think I'll get out from under this bridge now. Bye-eee.
