[rescue] Automount, Solaris 9 & LDAP? Oh, my!

Hey folks.

I've been settling down in my new job up north and thought the timing was
right to get back on the rescue list.
I got rid of a lot of my hardware when I moved. All but one Apple went to
a bunch of artists in Raleigh. My Suns (except for a few) were donated to
the Aurora Linux project. But now I guess I have room to start over.
Narrowly missed a chance on an E250 and E450 this week... drat!
Anyway I had a question... has anyone here been successful in getting
Solaris 9 to properly accept its automount maps from LDAP? This is giving
me fits. I've got an OpenLDAP server that Linux hosts are playing very
nicely with, no worries. The solaris servers are going as far as getting
username<->uid mappings, but not group<->gid or automount stuff.
Google is being less than helpful on this issue. I get the sense that
either not many people are doing this, or they are ashamed to admit what a
pain they are having with it. I have no shame so I'll admit it is driving
me up the wall.
