[rescue] X servers

Apologies to those that subscribe to sunhelp as well, but I didn't get
any real solution. I am looking for a way to connect to another machine
running xdm from within a window similar to xnest which crashes to
often. But I also can't use vnc because there's no vncserver for vms. I
wanted to use the same solution for any machine. Anyone got any ideas ?
