>From what I understand, having been shocked more than once, the path of travel with one hand is down the side and out the feet if they're grounded enough.  It misses the heart or hits it less.

If you have both hands in the mix and it goes across the chest you might as well have had a defibrilator put on you because it does almost the same thing.
