[rescue] Mac video cable?

I think this'd be logistically difficult, unless you know something I
don't.  :)

OK, so that gives me a way to check both the monitor and the cable.
Probably the cable first.....

Connecting the 7300 via the existing cable to the second input on my
GDM-500PS gives me video, though only at 640x480.  The 7300 would not
admit the availability of any other resolution, though I run the GDM500
at 1600x1200 on the PC connected to the primary BNC inputs.

Connecting the 7300 to our one other available Mac monitor, a Macintosh
Multiple Scan 14" Display with a hardwired cable, I can get video at
640x480, 800x600, 832x624, or 1024x768.  (The monitor, however, is in
such bad shape that it's only usable at all at 640x480 or 800x600, and
even then, it's faint and blurry.  It's not, in practical terms, usable 
other than for testing.)

Connecting the 1705 to my wife's Dell via the Dell's existing known good
video cable gives me video on the 1705 at 1024x768.


To me, this seems to be pointing the finger at one or more of the sense
pins in the cable.  So it does, indeed, look like we have a perfectly
good monitor, but need a working cable.

Anyone else concur or disagree?
