I've bought a crap load of ATM stuff in the past, just
for the hell of it. The small ass cells do take a toll
on the CPU but it's still faster than the built in
10baseT on most of my older equipment, and ATM stuff is
generally cheaper than FastE NICs for the older boxes
(Indy, Indigo2, Indigo, SS20.)
May not be the best technically but it can be made to
work for cheap (admittedly, mine isn't working at the
moment as i lack an ATM switch with a FastE uplink.)
