First, thanks to all for the suggestions!

However, I still haven't gotten into the LOM.  I have even gone so far
as to dig up a console concentrator (which shipped from the mfg. with a
cable for the T1/T1405), but even this produced no results.

I'm starting to suspect either a) bad LOM/serial port b) previous owner
changed serial port settings.

Any further advice?  I wish I knew the bloody MAC address, then I could
just net-boot it.
