[rescue] SGI, MIPS, and Itanium

Did anyone read this?  SGI apparently has been getting better memory
performance from Linux/Itaniums than Irix/MIPS.  Article says nothing
about floating point performance between the two though.  

This is based on a large machine that is mostly proprietary SGI, rather
than the commodity stuff that has been used on ever SGI/intel machine
since after the first two.

Apparently an Itanium2 chip puts out nearly 10x as much heat as the
hottest MIPS chip.
