I am sure there would be no recompense if the roles were reversed, and the
fact that they seller can't be bothered to check their own auction for
accuracy during it's entire run tells me something as well.

If you really feel like being a nice guy, make sure you get something from
them for it or they'll do it again to someone else.
If you don't want to be nice, call you lawyer and have him send them a
notice about your sales contract being legally binding.
