Hi,
Just thought I would report that a Dallas Semiconductor DS1642-070 (70 ns)
is working fine for me as a replacement NVRAM in an IPX.
The esteemed NVRAM FAQ suggests the DS1642 doesn't fully work in an IPX,
(although refers only to 120ns and 150ns models), but this specimen seems
to be perfectly fine.
For anyone interested, the chip is identified as follows:
DALLAS
DS-1642-070
Timekeeping RAM
015C1D 304858
PHILLIPINES
It also has a logo of a clock in front of a ram's head. (!)
