I don't remember the model number from the original email,
but I know that the RISC AS/400 systems have a very good
resale value.  The CISC AS/400 systems don't, though.  The
later RISC models can also run Linux.

They are good, but for a business that wants to run one
buying a used AS/400 and a license from IBM is cheaper
than buying a new AS/400.

The software is licensed and coded, so for a hobbyist getting
a valid OS can be difficult.
