I presume just sticking a serial console on the thing would be fine?

break-out style connector they have on the back (for the keyboard,
monitor, mouse) is damaged?

It powers up, but the port is slightly damaged which probably explains
the lack of monitor signal - but if I can get in it some other way then
all is not lost.

Any ideas?
