DiskSuite (free!) has Alternate Pathing support. problem is, AP doesn't do
load balancing, it just handles failover. well, both FCOMs are on one board,
so if the board goes, so does the alternate path. ;)

but i don't care about that, this isn't a high availability setup, this is just
a machine with a JBOD on it that i can play with. what i'd like is to get more
bandwidth. each of these channels maxes out at 25MB/sec, which isn't the
fastest in the world, and 30 spindles can DEFINITELY push more than that. so
i have half of my stripe accessed through one channel, and the other half of my
stripe accessed through the other channel, now i get 50MB/sec, which is much
nicer. i only have 6 disks though, so it didn't make a huge speed difference,
but once i get these 14 disks i have here in it, and pick up the remainging 10,
i will be at max capacity and max speed. ;)

Whoops, nevermind... the compile just imploded, crashing the xterm it was
running in as well... Thanks, Richard... -- George Adkins --
