I got so excited thinking about Sol9 on my U30 (see previous post) that I jumped on the SS5/170 install as soon as I got home. Well it took forever - lemme tell ya but it is unquestionably faster than Sol8. I think Sun has something here. CDE actually feels OPTIMIZED. I have an 8-bit framebuffer, so don't ask me for 24-bit benchmarks. :-)
