Hi Lads
If anyone seriously wants to buy a very nice SGI Origin 2000 for around 6,000USD plus shipping from Australia, I may be able to help you out.
A major university in Brisbane, Australia has just decomissioned an SGI Origin 2000 with 64 CPU's (195 megahertz - R10k?) and 16GB of system memory. The system was professionally disassembled by SGI engineers. When reassembled, it sits in 4 SGI system racks each containing two modules. The system was fully operational before decommisioning and the IRIX license and apps are transferable.
Come on. This machine is worth going into debt for :-)
Regards,
Gavin
