If you want to juggle space on non-root partitions, it's as simple as :
1. Dump affected partitions (twice)
2. test your backups
2a. re-test your backups
3. boot single user
4. edit partition tables
5. newfs the new slices
6. restore
7. return to multi-user...

easy enough?
