  Much, much newer.  The VT420 pulls a fraction of the power of a
VT220 or a VT240.  It has two serial ports which you can swtitch
between by hitting F4, which is a very nice feature.

  The VT420 lacks the graphics & color capability of the VT240.

  VT420s make *excellent* console terminals for UNIX, VMS, or other
"real" operating systems.
