Xyplex virgin needs help

I found the Xyplexing thread form last fall. If Eugene would contact me
offlist, or Linc or Joshua or Mike or...  I need help.. I just dont *get*
it.

I can console to it, have the 'system' and 'access' thing down.. fixed IP..
can telnet to it and get the 'menu'... but cant *talk* to another device.
I think I'm missing something obvious. Like a conceptual grasp of what I;m
doing and the xypelx lingo.. (session? service?)

The 1000+ page docs talk in micro minutiae about commands, but never about
'jes makin it work'. I dont need to PPP to it, or dial in or dial out or
Appletalk, ar ARA.. just multiple serial servers and network devices.
