i just installed debian on a sparc5, but it's a rather stipped down
install, i'm using the machine for a rather specific purpose, so i don't
have X and i left out a lot of other stuff. I also installed it on a
sparc classic, but once again, a rather specific use, and a small
install.
The big problem is getting a 2.4 kernel to compile on sparc. Currently,
there's no maintainer for the sparc port of the linux kernel, and it
won't compile (at least some of the drivers won't compile, if you really
want to know, when i get things nailed down, i can tell you what i find)
