[rescue] WWII Aircraft (was RE: Boats?)

Yeah,

My Dad would talk about basic, about pranks/shennanigans/leave/buddies, but
never about combat, though I know he was in combat. Would immediately change
the subject. One time when I kind of pressed him on it, his response was "I
hope you never have to know".
