its a castrated P3 (128kb cache instead of 256kb) which is about
equal to a celeron.

Ok. I've seen Xboxes crash. I've *NEVER* seen a console crash
before the Xbox that didn't have something go wrong with the
hardware. I've seen more xboxes BREAK because of shitty construction
and design (who the HELL puts an HDD in a damn CONSOLE?). The xbox
is neither nice nor stable. The xbox on the specs is the nicest
console out there. However by the playability and quality aspects
I'd take my Gamecube or a PS2 any day. Design wise I think that the
xbox is lacking. It is just a PC in a box and is priced like one to.
The PS2 is one *HELL* of a compute engine and the Gamecube is none
too shabby itself (485mhz ppc?). The games for the xbox are
redressed PC games. PC games are a *TOTALLY* different market, a
different genre of game. A console game should be simple to control,
fun to play and 100% bug free. PC games don't do this and neither do
xbox games (they've castrated the controls on halo, I had a hard time
treating it as a console game). I had a choice between all three and
I chose the Gamecube because of the quality of the software for it.
Check out Pikmin some time and find something *HALF* as addictive,
fun, brain wracking and down right CUTE on an xbox.
