Umm, that's probably for a good reason. I recall from WAY back
when, the fastest way to break SunOS4 is to change root's home
directory. Some of those fuckages probably carried forward into
Solaris2. I don't remember the specifics though...except for all the
"r" commands blowing up, and krb4 no longer working...Oh, and I think,
something to do with cron...
I'd leave it the way it is. Do you really do an "ls -a /" all that
often? ;)
