Blender is growing on me. The biggest difference is that it isn't really made
for technical people, and it especially isn't made for solids. It's strongest
modes in my opinion are polygons and sub-division surfaces (which are by far
the best for animation IMHO). The Guestural interface takes a lot of work
to get used to, and there are a few other quirks, but once you think about
problems a certain way (a way I find similar to the way you should think
for SoftImage), it isn't too bad.
