Linksys WAP11, or get a Lucent RG-1000, open it up, and attach an external
antenna to the Wavelan card inside.  WAP11 runs around $115; RG1K runs around
$125+.  

I have a RG1K, and love it.  Basically the same hardware as an Apple Airport
base station, with different plastics and firmware.

WAP11 lets you easily upgrade the antennas tho.

www.personaltelco.net has all kinds of 802.11 info.
