about printer ports. i believe that /dev/printers/0 can only be
for the serial parallel card port. for 4m architectures i believe that the
printer is only /dev/bpp0. at least, on my sparc10 (now defunct - but
there is hope) /dev/bpp0 was the printer port. for 4c architectures
there is no parallel port without the add-on.

still don't understand why you can't get tty07.
