Here's some more info (I'm trying to narrow down the problem).  I used 
Ethereal on the tftp server and captured the packets during the tftp requests 
from the indigo2.  The sgi requests the file, the server logs the request, 
and then the server tries to transmit the file.  It retries the transmit 
about 3 more times, and the sgi doesn't respond.  Hmmm... I'm going to try 
another tftp server app first (i'm using the regular tftpd that comes with 
Debian).
