Moving to California from Rhode Island we rented a 15' from Budget and
towed the Buick - while the Taurus got shipped and I sold the truck. 
Cost us $1300 for the rent-a-truck+dolly, and $1000 to ship the Taurus.

Moving to Rhode Island from California we used ABF U-Pack.  Basically
you're renting space on a commercial trailer, paying by the foot.  We
paid $1500 for that, drove the Taurus, and shipped the Buick ($875).

Have you thought about using ABF U-Pack to ship the stuff, and tow the
Neon behind the 'Mog?
